It is pretty gentle. One tube lasts me 2 applications. I do like to massage with it and leave it for around 5-10 min. before shampooing. My hair got way better since I've started using scalp exfoliating products and mild shampoo. I like that this scaler is acid based, instead of salt, since I feel like I loose more hair than usually with salt ones.
