After testing this Laneige Cica Sleeping Mask continuously for the last month i can say that i finally made my mind about it. I guess everyone is on the cica hype train nowadays 🤷🏻♀️ but what sells, sells.
Claims:
🍀"Strengthens the skin barrier" - I can't really conform this one, but my skin has been less sensitive overall (there was less stinging when i was applying skincare as i was using this night cream more)
🍀"Soothes the weak and sensitive skin" - Whenever I was applying it, my skin was EATING IT. I have dehydrated skin and sometimes the tightness on my face unbearable, almost painful but this mask somehow managed to do the trick. I think I got so addicted to it that I would replace the normal day moisturizer with it, especially when I was staying home.
👍🏻Positives:
* no fragrance when you apply it onto your skin, unless you stick your nose into the jar (very faint herbal scent)
*has a thicker, more nourishing texture - those with oily skin may not enjoy it so much because as soon as you apply a bigger amount your skin will start to feel suffocated
*a little goes a long way - it seems to be one of those creams that "last forever"
👎🏻Negatives:
*none that I'm aware so far
Conclusions:
🍀To me this seems suitable for normal to dry skin
🍀I must admit that i was not expecting much from this product because i thought it was just one of those hyped brands that people usually pay for the name not the product. Well, I'm glad that is not the case now because that word have been a huge waste of money.
🍀After using it continuously for the past month, sometimes even as an AM moisturizer I can say that my skin has improved a little bit. Nothing too dramatic tho. My skin is not as irritated (also called the redness that came with it) or dehydrated anymore, but as soon as I stop using the mask, the skin goes back to its angry self, so I guess it doesn't actually do much in the long run.
🍀Would I buy it again? To be honest I'm not so sure. I have so many other products that are waiting in line that I would probably forget about it by the time I'm done with them (and let's not forget how many other cheaper alternatives are out there).
