I didn't realize that it can be used as both a scalp and a conditioning treatment which explains why the texture is not quite a shampoo or a conditioner. It does soften and smooth my hair but I have not noticed any benefits for the scalp or any real hydration. It helps tame the hair which is a bonus but it isn't what I wanted out of this product.
