Review of Innisfree’s Ampoule Intense Cushion in No.23 True Beige
Innisfree’s Ampoule Intense Cushion is one of the newest cushions that’s been released so far, this cushion is designed for dry skin in colder weather. According to Innisfree, this cushion contains an ampoule intense complex that protects the skin barrier and keeps your skin moisturized. It contains camellia sinensis leaf oil, also known as tea seed oil, which is extremely moisturizing and antioxidant rich giving the skin a healthy glow. The cushion also contains mineral powder (skin protecting, oil absorbing), citrus unshiu peel (rejuvenating, anti-aging), orchid (anti-wrinke, moisturizing) and camellia japonica extract (antioxidant rich, anti-aging).
So since my long wear cushion is long since finished, I just bought the refill of this cushion to put in that case. This refill actually didn’t include one of those awesome puffs (it would’ve been awesome if they did). The scent of this cushion is very light, slightly herbal and not too bad on the nose, much more pleasant than the long wear cushions scent. So first things first, this cushion is very sheer, though it is slightly buildable, but if you want full coverage, this is not a good choice. I actually have really good skin and I still had to use a lot concealer. The cushion sets to give a very natural glow, leaving your skin looking extremely refreshed. I got the darkest shade, No. 23 True Beige, which is still very light and probably suits someone with NC/NW 20 skin tone better but since the coverage is sheer it actually blends with my skin pretty well. This cushion is also pretty long wear, at least 8 hours and it contains SPF 34 PA++.
What I like: I totally did not expect to like this cushion as much as I did, I’d heard conflicting reviews, mainly about how the coverage is so sheer that it barely covers anything. But I love the finish and the coverage is just right as my skin is pretty clear (except when my skin freaks out to an allergic reaction lol). The slightly dewy finish is good and actually the oil control is pretty good for a dry skin aimed product. I love the fresh and very rejuvenated look that this cushion gives me. What I don’t like: I wish Innisfree would make a darker shade, even just ½ a shade darker would be great. Otherwise I have no complaints about this cushion.
Pros:
Natural dewy finish
Brightening
Lightweight
Refreshing
Pleasant light scent
Long wearing
Lovely ingredients
Skin remains moisturized even after washing it off
Cons:
Limited shade range (applicable to all Innisfree cushions tbh)
A little expensive
May be too sheer for some people, a lot of concealer might be required.
Will I buy again?
Yes, I think this is definitely my favorite cushion so far.
