My skin type: Oily / Dehydrated / Acne-prone / Hormonal acne.
I originally bought this cleanser after discovering how amazing Hyaluronic Acid is and how amazing it's been for my skin, and I needed a cleanser I could use in the morning since my nighttime one was for my acne, and I didn't want all the moisture I put on at night to be taken off by it again once I woke up. And wow.. This stripped my skin far worse than my current cleanser (with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide).
I initially tested it out on the back of my hand, it smelled amazing (definitely an added fragrance, which is sadly bad for sensitive skin) and didn't seem to lather up much. I thought that the lack of lathering up would mean it wouldn't strip my skin, but I was wrong. As soon as I washed it off my hand, the skin that was touched by the cleanser felt TIGHT, it felt like rubber. I couldn't tell if it was dry or if it left a rubbery residue on my hands, or both. Besides that initial shock, I still went ahead and tried it out for 2 weeks on my face. It didn't cause any breakouts but it did leave my skin even MORE dehydrated and I would get way more oily during the day. I wouldn't even bother using this as an overall body wash, I just use it to clean my makeup brushes now.
Overall Pros:
- Smells good
- Didn't break me out
Overall Cons:
- Added fragrance
- Doesn't lather well
- VERY stripping
- Leaves a rubbery texture on the skin
Would I buy this again? Nope. Would I recommend it to anyone? Definitely not.
I'd definitely recommend this product to a friend! It has worked really well for me.
